Discovering a new band that makes great music is a wonderful feeling. Discovering one from your home town makes it that much better.
Adelaide band Salibu Macey has delivered just that feeling with their recently released 'Wilpena Street EP'.
With acclaimed Aussie band Sticky Fingers entering a tumultuous hiatus twelve months ago, Salibu Macey have announced themselves as a candidate to fill that void, with Dylan Frost-like vocals driving chilled melodies throughout the six-track project.
Opening number 'Bones' gives off REM and Danzig-esque dad rock vibes (in a good way), while 'Fall Out The Sky' beautifully displays the versatility of the band's instrumentation and the laid back ‘Call In The Cold’ might just pip ‘High’ as the project’s standout.

It's a small sample size, but if these Adelaide boys can continue to produce tunes of this calibre, they’re one to watch.

If you dig it, start your new year off right and catch Salibu Macey live at Minnesota Fats (192 Pirie St) on January 13.
